Wynot, Nebraska Unique Attractions and Points of Interest

1.  Wynot has a unique name (the only municipality named Wynot in the United States and possibly the World).

2.  Wynot is located just 7 miles from the Missouri River and just 1/2 mile north of Scenic Byway 12, Lewis and Clark traveled this area on their Expedition.

3.  The Henson Wiseman Family is buried in the Wynot Public Cemetery.  This Cemetery was laid out in 1874 and includes the graves of the five Wiseman children who were massacred in 1863 and the graves of 57 ;soldiers with 30 of these being Civil War soldiers, which is more than any other cemetery in the area.

4.  The first school in Cedar County was located north of Wynot.  Presently, Wynot's School System has a modified Four-Day School Week.
