Hartington, Nebraska Unique Attractions and Points of Interest

1.  Since 1885 Hartington has been  the  County Seat of Cedar County.

Hartington  is the location of a beautiful Romanesque style Courthouse built in 1891.  Made of locally manufactured brick, the historical marker on the front lawn features information on Lewis and Clarks Council at Calumet Bluff.  The location of the Courthouse is on the corner of Broadway on Hwy 84.

2.  The Cedar County Museum on Hwy 84 features an original log cabin, Henson Wiseman Monument Memorabilia collection, and wood carving collection of Hugo Wuebben.  There is a Historical Marker in front of the Museum.

3.  City Auditorium on the corner of Broadway and Center

was built in 1922 and is listed in the  historical register.  It was designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright.

4.  Felber Park, located in the  Northwest corner of town

features a shelter house made of local stone, municipal golf course, baseball field, and a  swimming  pool with beautiful flower beds framed in stone as well.
